Network Tools
Network Tools, Windows 2000 Server, Network Monitoring Tools, Network monitoring
I wonder if anybody could help, currently doing the administration on a windows 2000 site running active directory with around 60 users. Is there any good network tools out there which will not drain system resources but which can give an indication of Network bottlenecks and impasses.

Any help would be greatly, appricaited.

The diagnosis that you need depends on the issue you are experiencing so if for example users have a slow logon process you'd try and see if it's DNS related or replication topology and so on.
Please let us know what is the problem you're trying to solve and we'll be glad to help you.

If instead you just want to see router graphs and so on so the Paessler Router Grapher is a really good tool for this purpose

Yeah, it all depends on what you’re looking at/for. You can do a lot with the OmniPeek network analyzer. Set it up on a monitor/mirror/span port and run it in monitor mode and you’ll be amazed at what you can uncover.
