 network problems
I am using a 2 computer network Iam using crossover cable to connect network is set up. pinged client passes pinged host timed out. help

Software/Hardware used:
windows xp home realtek ethernet adapters

Can you check the firewall settings in both the PCs, if they are enabled disable them, check your IP address settings and the default gateway as well. What are the IP address you are using in both pc's do let me know as well. Make sure the cross cable is crimped well.

1. just disable all firewalls from antivirus or windows

2. just use simple ip like 192.168.1.2 and 3, subnet at 255.255.255.0 and gateway at 192.168.1.1

3. if all the on top cannot work, check your network cable.

If every think is ok but you don’t get reply from pc you remove the network adapter from device manager and restart the PC.
