network printer not working in terminal services
Print Server, Terminal Server, Windows 2000 Server, Network printers, Network printing, HP Color Laserjet 2600n
I have an HP Color Laserjet 2600n on our network. I can ping it just fine. I can also print to it from one windows 2000 terminal server but not our second windows 2000 terminal server. It was working fine on terminal server #2 but all of a sudden stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I have deleted and recreated the printer queue with fresh drivers and still nothing. it works fine on terminal server #1 so I tried to map to that printer on terminal server #2 and it doesn't work that way either. any ideas?? both terminal servers are on the same subnet. printer is on a different subnet.

You may want to delete the printer port as well when you remove the printer in question. Then re-add as necessary. Are you using the Microsoft Add Printer Wizard or are you using the HP JetDirect Admin to install the printer. If you were using the MS Add Printer Wizard try using the HP Jetdirect Admin or vice versa to see if that resolves the issue.

Did you map the printer from the server via the IP address?

also when I do try to print to it the print job goes through the queue and dissapears like it printed fine.

another thing to point out. the other printers that I have on terminal server #2 are working fine. including another color laser, xerox phaser printer. this is boggling my already tired mind!!
