Network folder is read-only but only from one COMPUTER
Hi. Here's my problem. 1- I have a shared folder on Windows Server 2003 that has Full Control (read/write) NTFS permissions for Everyone. 2- This folder is actually accessible for writing for every users. 3- On one particular computer running Windows XP SP2 (on which nothing has changed lately for all I know) the folder is now read-only. I try different users on that computer and it's still read-only. I try the same users from any other computer and it's accessible for writing. The problem appeared for excel files but I tried .txt files and it's the same. The folder is read-only but only from one specific computer in the network!!! The Indexing Service is off. The folder isn't open in an explorer windows : I open it directly from a program or a shortcut. I tried with the antivirus off. The windows firewall is off. It was working two days ago. I didn't install or modify anything in the meantime. I searched the web for an answer and found nothing. Anyone has an idea?

Answer Wiki:
Check if in the user accounts properties (control panel), in the second tab you can manage credentials, it's how the computer connect to the server. Let me know if it helps. Regards.

Suspect that, main probs on ur XP. Throughly check the permissions, Local security policy, Computer Management > Local USers and Groups and analyze the services also.
