definitely because cisco is the most dominant brand when it comes to networking industry, but it depends on the requirements of that "network engineer" position, if you become ccna, you know only the basics.
----------------------
Getting your CCNA also allows you to easily branch out to the specialty certs - Voice, wireless, security, service provider - and lay the foundation for the CCNP/CCIE track...

If you live outside the United States, by submitting your email address you consent to having your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
CCNA gives you the fundamental knowledge to become a network engineer.
Then go play around with network boxes like cisco, juniper or/and linux.
Then go cisco CCNP and/or Juniper (JNCIS)
I need some council or help, because im planning to get certication in CCNA until CCNP, and after SCSA ( Solaris? Unix), there is any idea about my option ? or at least someone can tell me how many months i need to get important knowledge and certification ?
I would suggest at least CCNP. In addition to this, CWNA is a good certificate for wireless networks.
