I have a wonderful dell 2350..however linux doenst seem to recognize my eithernet card, the card its a broadcom 440x thats built into the motherboard

Check the power configuration settings. It may be disabled when the computer is on battery power. Please also provide details about what OS is running on the computer. Check also this <a href=”http://www.scrounge.org/linux/nics.htm”>how-to about ethernet adapters under linux</a>. Type <b>iwconfig</b> or <b>ifconfig</b> to see if the card is shown in a terminal window. Here’s another <a href=”http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Ethernet-HOWTO.html”>good how-to</a> for you.
