 Netapp FC info ONLY!
A SearchStorage.com reader recently asked: I've got a question regarding NetApp storage connected through fibre channel. I don't want NetApp NAS info. Are there any subscribers to this forum who are doing this in their IT shop? I would like to know how many sub-systems, how much storage and what O/S is being used. Don't need the company name. Thanks in advance.

Answer Wiki:
I work in what equates to a testing lab. I have two NetApp filers for traditional NAS. We have been looking at the filers to use a SAN storage arrays. They seem to be easy to use when performing the LUN masking and mapping. If you have the proper setup, performance seems to be as good as or better than an EMC Clariion. If you are already using NetApp, you will find that it is familiar creating and assigning volumes. I like the HP EVA the best for this type of storage. Their virtualization gives the best performance IF you follow their best practices. Good Luck - Dave
