Hi folks,

As there is no net meeting feature in Windows 7, how can I collaborate the meeting space of  Windows 7 with the net meeting of Windows XP? This is just to send the instant messages in a network where I use both XP and Windows 7.

Software/Hardware used:
WIndows7, windows XP and windows server 2003

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

NetMeeting isn’t included in Windows 7; it’s now called Microsoft SharedView. There is a small download that needs to be installed on each machine wanting to join the meeting. Up to 15 participants are allowed, and this program works on Windows 7, Vista, XP, Windows Server 2003 machines also. Here’s the link.

The file name is SharedView.msi, just install and configure, start you work….

OR

Install XP virtual machine and run it
1. In the title bar, Tools >Settings >Networking
2. Setup VPN in the XP VM, run it, and connect to your private network
3. Enable the windows firewall in the XP VM (optional but recommended)
4. Start >run >conf

Dear Amardeep, To run Virtual Windows XP mode in Windows 7 the CPU / processor should support hardware virtualization technology else u never be able to run Windows XP mode. 1. Now download the Virtual PC and Virtual Windows XP mode. 2. First install the Virtual PC by its setup file and follow the on screen instructions. 3. After installation, restart windows 7 NOTE: After the restart is completed u will be able to see the Virtual PC entries in Start menu 4. Now run the setup wizard of Virtual Windows XP and follow the onscreen instructions 5. After installation is completed, u can launch the Virtual Windows XP from the Start Menu and u will be asked to accept the terms and conditions. 5. Enter the password that u will use for logging in Virtual Windows XP 6. Now Virtual Windows XP will be setup and will take a while and u will able to see the Virtual Windows XP inside Windows 7 7. Now run the applications that run in Windows XP earlier 8. Click Start > Run > and type conf U may see the NetMeeting db hope it helps u !
