Dear All,

Again I need your help in this matter.

My company?s corporate mail server is hosted my one third party firm. And it?s a shared. Hosting.
Let?s come to my issue. End of last week some of remote office?s users got some spam mails from unknown source. As per instruction they did rules through OWA for block sender.
I need to apply a sever rule on exchange to block that senders permanently. What I want to do for same?

Thanks in advances

If the 3rd-party firm is sharing 1 Exchange server over several clients, they may not want to implement further spam-blocking techinques, or may at least lag in implementing. They may also ask for more money to license and install filtering software on the server.

You could research an external blocking service such as MXLogic/Postini/etc, where you'd direct your domain's MX records to the service, and they would forward clean mail to your 3rd-party email server.

If using the Outlook client, why not try a free client-based filter such as SpamBayes? (http://spambayes.sourceforge.net) It blocks based on personal email habits, and many times works better than server/service-based solutions.

I am assuming that the company hosting your email is using exchange. If you have a specific address or domain that you need to block, then you could have the hosting company add this to the message delivery settings in the Exchange System Manager. This will block the address from everyone on the server, but if this indeed a spamming site, the other companies will feel the benefit as well.
