Need to add a ‘/’ as a switch to a path shortcut

I am trying to create a Desktop shortcut, but the Target Path has a "" (tried the ASCII chr(47) with no luck - it always turns it around to a "/") after the .exe that is needed in order to launch the app. I know this is an illegal character in VB Script, but is there a work around so that I can add this character some how to the path? Here is what the path looks like for the Target path: C:TPGCommonRunapp.exe /offline/nobackup Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Software/Hardware used:
Windows XP and VB Script (Dell GX620 - I believe)

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Does the path have a '' or a '/' ? (I'm asking because the question title says "need to add a '/' switch...", but then you say "... it always turns it around to a "/"") Anyway, you should be able to add any of these characters without problems. Can you post your vb code ? tip: The '' is an escape character here, so it is now shown unless you write it twice.
