[strong]Can the values within the Dialog list fields be tied together. Below is my scenario.[/strong] [strong]The Status Field should be tied to the Type of Request field. Both are dialog list with values.[/strong] Status field will be auto populated  with some values on what is entered into the Type of Request field,  the drop down selections under the Status field should still remain the same and the ability to change the status remain intact.

The generic answer to your question, is that this is relatively easy.
- For your Type of Request field, use the second tab on the properties box and check the box that says “Refresh fields on keyword change” – this will refresh/recalculate the form whenever the user changes the value of the Type of Request field.
- For your Status field, use the second tab on the properties box and check the box that says “Refresh choices on document refresh”
- For the Status field, on the second tab, set the dropdown for Choices to “Use formula for choices” and set the formula to your requirements. Here’s an example:
@If( RequestType=”X”; “A” : “B” : “C”; RequestType=”Y”; “Red” : “Blue” : “Green”; “Uncaught exception” )
So, if Type of Request is X, the choices for Status will be A, B, C
if Type of Request is Y, the choices will be Red, Blue, Green
etc.
If you need more customization, then look at the third tab on the properties box for Type of Request and consider checking the box that says “Run Exiting/OnChange events after value change” – then use code in those events to do what you want.

    In lotus notes you can do by this way: 1) Type of request is getting value form some list or @dblookup suppose the dialog field is txt_Typerequest 2) status is getting value from @dblookup where key is Type of request. suppose the dialog field is txt_status now make a hidden computed field "tmprequest", and use formula as field name of type of request, ie. txt_Typerequest then write an input translation formula in the 2nd dialog list field as : @If( txt_Typerequest!=tmprequest;"";txt_Status)
