Need Career guidance: SAP ABAP with XI (or) SAP Techno-functional Role (ABAP with MM)
Hi,
I have around 8 years of experience in SAP ABAP programming skill. Currently looking to add value to my profile by working in new skill and at edge of selecting the right career path for me.
I am certified in SAP XI 3.0 but do not have work experience. For most of the tenure, I have gained very good functional knowledge of MM module.
Now I have option to either go for SAP XI stream or become SAP techno-functional person using the MM knowledge.
Option 1: It has been informed to me that SAP PI 7.3 is coming up with Java stack only and in future ABAP stack would be diminishing. I have good knowledge of Java but do not have work experience. So I am prepared to face the challenges if at all I am opting the SAP XI path. I understand that I would face competition with experienced Java folks.
Option 2: I am planning to go for SAP Techno functional role. I would like to go and complete the MM certification and would add value to my profile.
I am in state of confusion of which path I need to select to build better and stable career.
