NDM or ConnectDirect

Hello there! 1) Aside from it's manufacturer/developer, are there any websites where I can find NDM or ConnectDirect manuals? 2) I have 3 files, a header (1 record) file, a detail file (stored in a tape), and a trailer (1 record) file. What ConnectDirect parameters can I use to send these three files in one transmission instead of three transmissions? Thank you in advance.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

My Connect:Direct is a little rusty, so if someone else sees an error on my part, please correct….

1) As for manuals, I’d be surprised if you found them anywhere except on Sterling’s site (if at all…. they may want to charge you for them).

2) It depends on which flavour of C:D you have; the workstation edition will only allow 1 file down, 2 files up (or vice versa, I forget) per transmission. In your case, you would have to send as separate transmission with this version.

If you have the server version, then you should be able to send the three files as one transmission; but given that your details are on a tape, I doubt that C:D will read the tape during the transmission, you would have to recover the file from tape to disk before transmitting.

A suggestion… Why not set up some automation to read the file from tape, concatenate the header and footer files to the details, and send as one file?

Cheers
