Sure spadasoe…i just figured out that i kant use dhcp in this case, bt i stil kant figure this one out!….ts like i have two routers, the local router in which i have configured 3 vlans of private addresses! now i need to route these ip addresses to the isp router! any help plz on how to translate these vlans to the public addresses!
You might need to consult your ISP cause they can do this for you! Who implemented you VLANs?
What Cisco router are you using? You can set up NAT regardless of how your WAN (public) IP is assigned, using DHCP or static.
This question is not well stated, the spelling and text speak makes it difficult to understand exactly what the problem is. The devices used are not mentioned. My guess is that the question is a coursework question as network certifications are mentioned.
.ts like i have two routers,
Do you have 2 routers, or a router and a switch with the VlANs on it?
If you have 2 routers, how have you created the VLANs on the 2nd router?
how to translate these vlans to the public addresses!
How many public addresses do you have?
Have you tried defining a default route to the gateway router on the VLAN router?
If you only have 1 router, and therefore 1 public IP address, a default route to the gateway might work.
Chippy..your right! t was a cisco certification simulation! the simulation had two routers and two switches…the first router is a local router to which one switch is attached and that is whre i configured my vlans..and the 2nd router is an ISP router with this block of public ip addresses 200.200.200.0/29 and there is a switch connected to this router….i used the block 200.200.200.0/30 for the serial connection btn the routers! i need to the hosts from my three vlans to be able to ping the hosts from the ISP switch hosts!
