Q:
Names are not getting reflected in Global Address List in Exchange 2007
I have win2003 Server Enterprise with Ms-Exchange 2007 Server and Ms-Outlook 2007 as the email client. Some of the contacts i create under Active Directory Users & Computers -> Domain -> Users, are not getting reflected or shown in the Global Address List when i try to look out for a contact.
Need your help please.

Outlook uses cached exchange mode by default. That means it only updates the GAL periodically (about once a day).

To see more immediate changes to the GAL, turn off cached exchange mode and do a send/recieve. You would also need to wait for the new contacts to replicate to the other domain controllers.

For the above, i use outlook 2007. so when i tried to lookout for the required contact, it is not shown in the global address list while it is found in the AD.
What do i need to do? Please help.

If you take the client off of cached mode do the new users show in the GAL? Check the synch issues folder on the client and see if there are errors. If there are, please post them. Thanks.

The new names show up right away in the Adress Book under “All Users”
