AS/400 question - 11
I have a service program that contains 3 modules. ADD, SUB, DIV. Now Say I have Modified the code one of the modules. One of the advantages of service programs that I have known is that whenever a module in a service program is modified, you dont have to compile all the programs that is using this service program. But just do a UPDSRVPGM to update the service program and that would suffice. Recently I came across such a scenario and once I did a UPDSRVPGM also the service program changes werent reflected.
I either had to do a RCLACTGRP or sign off the session and sign in for the changes to be reflected.
Can anyone please let me know why this is happening? What is the significance of RCLACTGRP (I have read it in blogs saying this deletes the activation group and releases the resources - But how is that helping the service program to be updated)?
Can anyone please help me with this?
