Is there a limit on database size for MySQL? my database is getting on the large zise will this effect proformance?

Yes, for sure it will effect performance. and u will have to tune it for great performance and add more memory for more space and fast running.

pl. check the memory space that u have and when the database gets large you will have to go for performance tuning and increase the memory space

What size is the database? Most peoples consideration of large isn’t actually all that large.
