my hard disk drive can format
l bought a hard drive for my toshiba laptop but when l started the format the system, l received this message that error have been encounter and restart the computer. it happens all the times. what should l do to solve this problems? help me out. thanks

The problem may not be the OS but the hard drive itself. My daughter came to me with a problem like this and when I tried to reinstall the OS, it kept crashing. So I formatted it and tried the install, same thing, so I tried to install a different OS and it failed at the same spot. The reason was that the hard had a physical damage on the disk and that was causing the problems. So you might consider, if you have one, replacing the hard drive and going through the steps, if it succeeds, then you have your answer, if not, then you have something else going on, but I bet it is a bad hard drive.

what windows are u using?
Why r u playing with this brand new HDD !! If u couldn’t format it, then call the vendor from where u bought this one. As far as my knowledge, there is a warranty / guarantee on the new HDD. So, ask them to format it and don’t play with this else u cn loose the warranty / guarantee period. I know several ways to detect a HDD or also know how to format forcefully format a HDD. But so u purchased new, so there is no q to handle urself.
You can format the hardisk using command prompt . use format command of DOS.
