MVS JCL
I have the need to start my IBM webserver via a batch job. I attempted to use the $VS command to send the start command through the internal reader. However, since the IPCS parms are case sensitive, it didn't work because the case was not preserved. Is there a way to send a mixed case command through a batch job to the OS?

My suspicion is that you created this job in ISPF with CAPS ON. If so, re-edit the JCL: open the member, issue the command CAPS OFF, then retype the case sensitive information and save the job.
