Q:
Multiple Remote Access using remote desktop connection from Mac to XP PC
Hi,
Just would like to ask on how to enable or is it possible in XP Pro OS to be accessed from Mac remotely using remote desktop connection(RDC) using multiple accounts simultaneously? I've tried it but only one account can access, is there any way multiple access be available or enabled? Your inputs will be highly accepted, I just started months ago administering windows machines, well, most are windows server 2003, I just setup a XP pro for some application compatibility and there will be five users that needs to access this machine. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, Windows XP does not provide this capability. It is a single "published" desktop and other terminal sessions are not available. You would have to move to a server OS to provide more than one remote desktop at a time.

There is a way to (sort of) resolve this issue: Timbuktu is a third party remote access program with both Macintosh and Windows clients. If running on the Windows system, it is possible to have more than one connection to the PC from other PC’s or Mac’s, but NOT to allow control (ie: view only sessions). One remote connection can be given full control, but only one at a time, and it will have to be released from the remote controlling system in order to be grabbed by a different remote system.

s far as true native sessions, Labnuke is correct that a true server OS would need to be used if that type of connection is required.
