How to catch the time of the MSGW?

Answer Wiki

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You check them in different ways:

- DSPMSG QSYSOPR, position the cursor to the message reply, and press F1.
- If job is still running, use DSPJOBLOG (with job name parameters), position the cursor to the message reply, and press F1.
- If job has ended, WRKSPLF (with job name parameters), option 5 to view the job log spool file, and search for the message reply.
Hope this helps.

If the job has ended, another way is see if the message is in the QHST log.

DSPLOG QHST, scroll until you find the halt/message, move your cursor to that line, then F1. Check out the time sent in the heading.

    Thanks for your answer
     but I have a question:
When you press F1  the time appear on the screen is the same of the job. For exemplo:
If the job entered in MSGW  at 07:00 pm and the operator answering the message at 07:30 pm,  When you analize the history log the time appear at 07:00 pm and not at 07:30 pm.
the hours of 07:00 pm  appear on the history log. when the job finish

Hi aponzo, Sorry, I was wrong. I have tried the F1 on the message reply (DSPMSG), and the message sent date and time is shown in the screen not the message reply.
