I'm getting the following error showing up in event viewer in Server 2003 - Error MSExchangeTransport Routing Engine/Server Event 999. This shows uop every 30 -60 secs. When I click through to the error it states 'Routing failed to acquire the handle to the existing key container within default cryptographic service provider (CSP)'
Also MSADC service controller error 8108 is showing every 5 mins. Click through and it states 'The initialization process failed'
Exchange is up and running and emails are being sent and received ok.
Please can anyone advise.

Have you been messing with encryption on the server?
Or migrating from SBS?
No, encryption has not changed and the server has not been migrated.
We had an issue recently with the back up where the log files in the mdbdata folder filled the hard drive. The back up had not been purging the files. This was resolved a few weeks ago.
Did the issue begin during the time of that mdbdata issue or since then? What was doent to resolve it? What troubleshooting have you done so far so we don’t suggest anything you have already tried?
I cannot be sure it began since the mdbdata issue. The files in mdbdata were not being purged basically because nothing was being backed up as task scheduler had become corrupted and NTBackup would only work if you did not do a scheduled backup.
I have not really done any troubleshooting as I have no idea to what the error relates.
