Windows Server 2003
Although i have not installed exchange or SQL server, my newly formatted server still gives licence errors for both. Any ideas.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Did you install Windows Server 2003 or Windows Small Business Server 2003? If it is the later that can explain it.

If not did you install off the original cd or a slipstreamed disk? Was Exchange or Sql on the slipstream machine?

Are you in a VM on another server?

Can you post the exact error message that would be a big help!

It is possible that SQL is running somewhere on the network. You can perform a scan of the network against port 1433 as a cursory examination and explore further if anything turns up.
