Don’t try out, I and my team tried to connect MS SQL Server from Linux client but did not success. Cause no of problems may arise later. Better go for My SQL Server and Community Server 5.0 onwards. These r free and handy. Just migrate from sql server database to my sql. And the databases r converted easily.
