I am using Exchange 2010. The MS Exhange Transport service and the MS exchande RPC client Access service are not running.  my users cannot connect to the exchange server using OUTLOOK 2007. When i open the Exchange management console , i get the error ' initialization failed'. what should do to fix this problem?

i have tried re-starting the exchange server to no avail.

Disable the Windows Firewall...... Check External (web Conenction for the server) Have a look at these links. Services for Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2010 cannot start automatically after you install Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange Server 2010 on a global catalog server http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940845 You cannot start the Microsoft Exchange Transport service on an Exchange Server 2007 Hub server http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948000 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/a545be2a-1378-4b2a-bfd6-259b81749d48

Did it ever work? Were any changes made to the exchange server before the issue started? If so, what were the changes?

My first question was similiar. Did you try manually starting the services once the server was up? This will at least give another indicator about the dependency that is missing. I'm curious if any other services are not running on the server. You mentioned that only the Outlook client is not opening? Can mail be access from OWA? oh and when you are
