Hi I am using Vb6 as front-end which is installed in the client machines and MS access 2003 in my server as back-end. Can I create local copies in each client system and at a particular time I need to update the server database with the local databases

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You would need to write some data replication functions into the local access databases to replicate the data. The odds of getting this done correctly without errors and without data collisions are slim.

I would recommend upgraded the database from Microsoft Access to Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL, or Oracle. This way you don’t need to store the data on the clients workstations as SQL, MySQL, and Oracle are designed to be multi-user databases.
