I have mpls line to connectivty from head office to branch office, one live and one backup, now i would like configure HSRP for active active setup.

My question is ,right now our backup line is using only redundancy, this line is mpls, if i configure HSRP this line can use another application as well as backup line?

this idea will work?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It not quite as simple as that I am afraid. By using MHSRP (multigroup HSRP) then you can achieve crude load balancing but one router will always be active and another be standby.

To have a true active active relationship between 2 routers where both are forwarders then it is better to look at GLBP rather than HSRP.

By implementing GLBP you are only dealing with your traffic one way though, i.e. from your network into the SP cloud, and still need to consider how your service provider will route traffic back to your head office. You will need to speak to them and tell them what you are going to do and ask them to implement load balancing on their side as well.

Hi friend MHSRP is good, becouse All our connection always should go through main line, same time we have backup connection, when the main is down it will switch over the backup line.this is one task second tast is, our backup always not using we are payin money for simply.so line i need this line for some another appilication we can configure MHSRP. i will give one example: first application:group one router#1 is active router#2 is standby second application:group 2 router#1 is standby router#2is active, i hop u can understand. My question is i configured BGP with MPLS, can we possible switch over lines? i am not sure GLBP becouse its doing load balancing, one server always use one line .second server always use backup line, if anything happen line, IT SHOULD BE SWITCH OVER. Is it possible friend? what is your opinion?
