MPLS connectivity question
BGP, Border Gateway Protocol, MPLS, MPLS VPN, Multiprotocol Label Switching, Network connectivity, Network performance, Traceroute
One site of our MPLS connections is down. When I do a traceroute to that site. I can see the packets bouncing back and forth between our router and the service provider's router. I haven't been able to contact the IT guys in the other site, so I'm trying to figure out what's happening from my side.
I'm just wondering about the packets routing back and forth between our routers. Is it bouncing back and forth because the ISP's BGP tables aren't complete because the other site is still down? or does it indicate that I should be concerned about the ISP's routing even after the other site gets back online?

There might some configuration issue in ISP Router.Your packet are going
to ISP router as per your Routing table. PE receives the same and there
might a static route for the destination pointing towards CE again. You
can ask your ISP to check the configuration.

Why? The article at that address doesn’t help the question here at all. And it’s not worth looking at for the very limited content that is there.
