Moving Services from Windows Server 2000 to 2003
I am just wondering how easy is it is, or if there is a way to move services from a WINS 2000 to a 2003 machine, or even to a WIndows XP machine. Currently we have a WINS 2000 machine that is our BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) and now that we have over 20+ BB users, it is in dire need of an upgrade. Does anyone have experience with moving services or with BESs in general? Thanks.

Answer Wiki:
it should be pretty straightforward. Steps: Install your new BES server making sure to use the same database. (That way they will be able to see each other) Move a couple of test devices to the new sever from the old and verify. Move ther other devices to the new server. Important notes: *The database is the key in these installs *Be sure that you have the database in a central location so that when you remove the old server you dont remove the database database with it
