As Sesame Street’s Blue monster would say ‘Delicious!’
IE uses two parts for websites – Favorites and Cookies.
Favorites are a listing of URL (Uniform Resource Locators)
Cookies are used to remember you BY the website. UserID and password are hopefully encrypted in a cookie for the specific website.
Two solutions – implement ‘roaming profiles’ which save favorites and cookies each time you logoff and restore tohose items when you login, to whatever machine. Or copy the user’s directory from ‘Documents and Settings’ before desposing of the old system.
This should also point out a critical problem, failure to thoroughly ‘wipe’ a harddrive leaves that information to the use/misuse of the next owner.
HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, GLB all have recommendations for safe disposal.
Good luch and be careful.
