Moving a SQL database from one host to another

SQL, ASP, SQL database, VBScript, Database migration, Web development

I need to help out in a move of a site coded in ASP/VBScript from one host we're having major problems with to another host that has been highly reliable for us. They both offer all the same features needed for this site, but we don't know how to move the SQL database along with the site.

Can anyone offer advice or point me to some utlities that can do this?

Does the current hosting provider offer you a way to backup the database, and get access to that backup? What sort of access to the SQL Server do you have? Do you have to use thier web based tool, or can you connect directly to the SQL Server using the native SQL Server tools?

The answers to these questions will greatly impact your ability to move the database.
