Monitoring and Denying IP addresses assignment in Windows 2000 Domain
Hi members, Currently our network is about 400+computers and a bunch of servers. We have managed and unmanaged switches. We are an hotel. Recently we have noted some rogue computers in our DHCP server lease list. We are looking for a way/software that can monitor dhcp assignments to computers, and match that IP to a switch port so we can locate where is the rogue computer trying to connect to our network. We know we can get rid of dhcp and use static addresses, or assign MACs to specific ports on the switches. But since we are an hotel, we need to give some freedom to the customers and so far, monitoring who's connecting where seems the best option for the moment. I was trying to look for solutions from 3COM, BMC and IBM, but either they don't have or I'm using the incorrect search keywords. Suggestions? Thanks,

Answer Wiki:
Check out www.netlatency.com. Although they've recently (how recently I don't know) gotten into VoIP, their base is managing all of the devices on a network without a ton of overhead Good luck - and no - I won't make a dime (or more) whether or not you check them out. Bob
