ML320T Not working on my AS400
I had a Microline 321Turbo in my Pharmacy and was working fine until a surge messed it up. I bought a new ML320T and made sure that the configuration is the same. However, it is printing 3 lines of garbage characters and at times it prints in the roller. I made sure the labels are printing on a 3" label. When I spoke to my HMS (Healthcare Management Syste) Helpdesk team they told me that the OKI DATA emulation mode has to be compatible to the HP 5e or HP6 data stream that is sending to the printer. The printer is connected from the parallel port back into an HP 170 jetdirect card. Is there someone that would know how to fix this issue? I have spoke with HMS and they say that they no longer support Dotmatrix printers and I spoke to OKIDATA and they told me that it is my Hospital Information System that is not configured properly. HELP!!

Answer Wiki:
Check the manual for the printer, there should be a section on setting the emulation. From what I can find there are only 3 emualtion modes (?) so it shouldn;t take long to try each one to see which works. The old printer probably had the mode set, the new one needs to be set up the same.
