Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It would vary greatly from vendor to vendor and from data center to data center. You would need to know how many rack equipment and supposedly heat generated from those racks as a guideline.

Good article to help establish some criteria:

If you can get a hold of the ANSI/EIA/TIA-942 Datacenter Infrastructure Standard it specifies a lot of information based upon how the room is set up. I do not know where to get an open source copy of this file. Following this would be the best idea. Maybe someone else here can help with that. A quick search on an engine showed: Concealed spaces flooring: http://www.icc-es.org/criteria/pdf_files/ac175.pdf IBM’s take: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dsichelp/ds8000ic/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.storage.ssic.help.doc/f2c_raisednonraised_1xobba.html Good luck.

It also depends on how tall your technicians are. :-)
