Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Mimix is a HA software for the iSeries, here is their link:

http://www.visionsolutions.com/Products/High-Availability-MIMIX.aspx

It is for High Availablity and Disaster Recovery. Basically it uses local or remote journaling to replicate data from typically your Prod iSeries to another iSeries in “real time”. If running correctly, you can backup the non production iSeries therefore removing the downtime from the production box. Also if your production box were to crash, you can switch your users to the other iSeries.

Vision Solutions dropped the MIMIX for Windows rebranded product and bought DoubleTake - so now it is all under the Vision Solutions umbrella.

Has anyone kept their Non Prod traffic LPARS for Dev/test in use on the primary Power box while failing over to a CBU for Prod traffic and thus shifting only the CPU licenses needed to run Prod on the CBU once a quarter? Or do you suggest full role swap with mirrored config on both boxes? In my head I am equating this to the idea of blu/green clustering on an open system but without immediate failover due to the applications being too old to move to i ASP. Would love to hear of any experiences/perspectives.
