Sridhar80,

Here is one approach:
– Set up your Notes view to contain the data you want to export. (Using formulas to columns values to very useful.)
– Export the Notes view as a Lotus 1-2-3 file
– Open the file using Excel
– Add a new worksheet and create you graphs/charts
– Save the file as an Excel workbook.

Hope this helps.

An easy way is to export the data to a .csv file (File-Export from the Notes top menu) then open with Excel. Include view titles to make the spreadsheet easy to understand. Categories that are not expanded in the view will not be expanded in the Excel sheet.

Assuming you are using R6 or higher, select the view entries that you wish to report on and do Edit, Copy Selected as Table. Then go to your spreadsheet and do Edit, Paste. This is one of the best features of R6 - I love it!

There's good example code to do the export and chart in the Lotus Sandbox. In Google type "Lotus Sandbox" to get to the sandbox. Then in the Sandbox query search for "Excel Report". You should get two hits. The second one "Excel Report and Chart Writer v2" is what you want. Download this database and have a look at the code. It works in R5.
