 Migrating a brightstore installation to a new box
Backup, BrightStor, BrightStor ARCserve Backup 12, brightstore 12, lto3, LTO3 Tape Drive, Windows Server 2008
server. We want to install on a new box and migrate our database and any other information needed from our old system to facilitate full restores from tapes going back 5 years. Old server win 2000 new server 2008. [!--[If !supportLineBreakNewLine]--] [!--[endif]--]

If you are upgrading from an older version of ARCserve then first install the new version on the old system so all the old stuff such as your jobs, media pools, etc. will be migrated to the new version. Then it can be moved to the new system. The CA Technologies support site (support.ca.com) has a whole bunch of tech docs on this. Just do a search on upgrade ARCserve. But TEC526547 is particuarly important since it details out how to move it to the new system.
