We want to migrate all servers in our datacenter to be backedup with backup exec instead of brightstore. Can we convert or import the database to bring in backup records and still be able to restore?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

That would require converting all the backups from one vendors format to another which isn’t supported. You’ll need to keep your backup exec system around for a couple of months (at least) in case you need to restore from it. Once you are sure that you don’t need to restore from those older backups you can remove the backup exec system and format all the backup exec tapes.

Since these are two different software vendors I doubt you will be able to do this, but the people to ask are the tech support from Backup Exec.
