 Micrsoft Dynamics GP – Reporting Tool
Crystal Reports, Microsoft Dynamics GP
My company has been bought over and we are moving from INFOR Aurora to MS Dynamics GP. As part of the move, I am to retrain as a management reporting person. The 'new' system currently runs Crystal reports but they are open to looking at other reporting tools. My question is - Is Crystal the best tool for GP, or should we be looking at Cognos, or another alternative? Thanks

It is my personal opinion and don't want to advertise for this and that company. I was working with Crystal report from beginning and i was very happy with this tool, but Oracle provide also some tools and techniques for reporting system like Oracle Discoverer, Oracle Olap. If you look at the Oracle BI Standard Edion, you will find also Dashboard, Answer and so on. Every tool has its strength and weakness. It depends what do you want from a reporting system. Mainly the system or tool should be user friendly and easy to learn to reduce the implementation cost, which is very important factor in each company. Best regards Mehdi
