Microsoft Retail Management System and SQL Server “Write” error

I am running Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System POS 2.0 on Microsoft XP platform. Store Operations Administrator and Manager are working with no problems. I know I am networked properly. When I open the POS I get the following: "Open-Incorrect Function", I can click OK and sign on the the POS, then I get "Write-No process on the other end of the pipe". I can add a customer and a product by just moving the Write error screen to the background, but I cannot tender the sale. The Write error box keeps coming up and will not allow the transaction to continue. I think this is a SQL server problem, but I cannot figure it out. Please HELP!

Those error's aren't SQL Server error messages. You might want to give Microsoft Support a call and have them help figure out what's going on with the system. Something may not be configured correctly.
