I am looking to find a way to Restore Office97/Outlook 2000/Win2000 and Office XP/Outlook 2003/WinXP setting to the original state. I need it in a fashion that an instructor can walk into the training room and be able to run on their own.

Office 97/W2k - reinstall
if you want to remove all other programs then format & reinstall from original CD

XP - use Restore
you cannot use restore if you want to remove all other programs, in that case you should do a complete format & reinstall from original CD

Office XP 2003 has a save my settings wizard that saves settings from Office apps you have installed to a file. You can later bring up this tool to restore the saved settings in that file to your applications.

We have some drives that we use for release testing so we have a similar requirement to yours. We set the drives up with two identical partitions. We then set up the first partition the way we wanted to start each test session. Then, we used Ghost to copy this base installation to the second partition. Whenever we need to start testing we use Ghost to copy the clean install back to the primary partition.
