Q:
Microsoft Licensing Enterprise Agreement Question
We are in the process of renewing our Microsoft EA agreement
and I'm looking for others that have experience with how they treat EA
agreements within their accounting department. We currently capitalized a
portion of the software during years 1-3 of the agreement but years 4-6 look to
be all SA and would be a shift to 100% expense.

I'm wondering how others may have treated this. Does anyone capitalize years 4-6 in SA only payments?

Nope, as SA isn't a capitol expense it falls into the other bucket.

How did you apply years 0-3 of the Enterprise agreement? In this case some is SA and some is License cost but Microsoft doesn’t break it out for you.
