And when you tried with a new tape, did you get the exact same error ?

“The tape thinks it is full and requests another tape to complete the backup, but it is the only tape that does this”

So, although you get an error when mounting the tape, the tape is recognized. Does the backup software see it as full from the beginning, or that happens after writing some data ?
