MCH3601 error is thrown after PTF upgrade

After PTF upgrade, Program is failing with Pointer not set for referenced location when is attempting to write to any file that is being used by the program. Program is re-compiled still problem is not resolved. Can someone throw light on this?

Hi,

First I suggest you check and make sure that you’ve applied all the latest PTF’s.

Is there anything unusual about the program or files that give the problem? Does the program call any other programs/API’s? Are the files journalled? Do the files have DB triggers? Check to see whether any of the objects involved are marked as damaged. Is this restricted to one particular program?

Can you give a brief desciption of what the program does?

    This error can also occur anytime there is a parameter mismatch. Check all parms carefully, esp if you aren't using protytypes.
