Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You can call another program from your orginal trigger program. Up to 6 triggers per PF.

Actually I'm not aware of the maximun number of triggers per file but we certainly have files with more than 6. The triggers are identified by 'Trigger name' when you perform the ADDPFTRG. This name is then used as a reference to remove the trigger ( RMVPFTRG ) or replace the triggered event.

In V5R2 the help text on the ADDPFTRG command states you can have up to 300 triggers per physical file, so I assume this can be spread over all trigger events. The one thing it does not state is what sequence the triggers will occur. In system file QADBXTRIGB which is maintained whenever you add or change a trigger, a field named 'Action order' is listed. This I believe is set based on the sequence you add the triggers in. So if you add three insert-after trigger entries they will be order 1, 2, and 3. Does this specify the order they fire in? If this is the case then, you need to add your triggers in the correct order, and if you ever need to insert one somewhere in the sequence you might need to remove all and add them all back in the correct order.
