I need someone to clarify on this. When you enter a material num in sales order, the material would first be created in Material Master. I heard that one may not need to have materials created in MM before using it. Is this true ? If so, what needs to be done to accomodate such scenario ? I am confused!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I think you’re referring to Text Item (TATX) which you can select from the item category after you’ve enter the material description.

No thats not possible. You cant create a Sales Order without creating the material.

Hello all, WHen you refer to text item (TATX), do you mean the system will allow you to put in the item description without the item number ? On the other hand, i think sap still requires an item number. Have anyone heard of non-catalog items ? Does this require item num ? Thank you for your responses. Appreciate it.
