Answer Wiki:
well normally the drive C: is the logical drive and theoretically were most people put their primary operating system, yeah you can do that by setting the active partition at drive D where your server 2003 currently residing by using an old dos tools like "fdisk' (fdisk.exe) that came from old windows 98 operating system..when you set the "drive D" at fdisk as your active partition, your computer will boot up at the drive D from now on, it may affect a bit boot time bec. your active partition is on middle part of your hard drive ..i hope i answered your question correctly, you' dont have to delete the drive "C" at all

Thank you R3boot
so another question,
can I merge “C” and “D”?
thank you again.

nope you cant merge it, but what you can do is delete the whole partitioning of the hard drive and then create a new one by still using the “fdisk” tool, when you do that your actually setting up the partitions and the logical drive as well extended hard drives, then C will be the default logical drive and then you can set it as the active partition so that when it boots up, the master boot record will be on the beginning of the hard drive and boot time would be faster comparing it when you set the extended hard drives(partitions) as the active partitions.
