Hello, Im helping a user create a shared folder on a server so i can map the drive from his system and enable him backup all his important documents and pst files on the server. I then want him to be the only person that will be able to log in, so i created an account for him with a password only him will know if he wants to map the drive and access his folder but after giving only himself permission, he is not able to access it from his system. when trying to map the drive, it gives access denied, im really stuck here. Can someone help me out. Thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Assuming the user is on a Windows system, and the server is too, have you checked both the folder’s security permission’s as well as the Sharing permissions. As my experience in this is that the user needs to be in both, either through a security group or explicitly to allow the full access required. Once you have checked both permissions, obviously granting full control to that users account, get the user to log-out, and then log back in again. Try that, if it doesn’t work, then update with any further info.

It worked. I did not think of telling the user to log out and log back in again. Thanks for your help
