Making Lotus Notes “locally available”

Using new company laptop to VPN in to Notes. receiving error message, "you forgot to make Notes locally available". I didn't forget - I don't know what it means!

    I don't have the answer, per se, but I'm moved to mention that one of the great things about Notes is that you don't need a VPN! If your company policy permits, you can have the Domino servers/Notes clients create their own secure, encrypted connections. Much easier for the users.

    Is this the exact error message? This one gets no hits from IBM. Just off-hand, it sounds like you are trying to access Notes without having the connection to the server, which would need a local replica or to be in "Island" mode. But if you are VPN'd in and your connection to the Notes server is okay, not sure. Please post the exact error message if this is not it. //dan
