Making a career in SAP

Sir, I am a computer engineering graduate and completed my b.tech in 2012 but due to some reasons, I'm working in a marine insurance firm. But I want to make a career in SAP. So please suggest me how to proceed. I'm from India. Some suggested to me to do a certification in SAP ABAP from any authorized training centre. I have heard about Genovate, Atos etc. who are providing certification in a 20 days training period. But it is very costly. But I want to know if I will appear for the certification then can I get any opportunity after completing my certification? Will only 20 days of training be enough to get a grasp on the course? Some of my friends told me that only ABAP certification can not help me much. I have to get certification in functional module (FI,CO etc.) as well to get a good job and make my future secured. I'm very much confused. Please help me out in this regard. What should I do now? How should I proceed? Can I switch to functional module from ABAP in the future or what are my future scopes? Or should I get trained from any low cost training centre first and then appear for the certification? Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Don't go for sap fico, this is financial controlling, which is suits for commercial area or people who works in financial area. As you are a computer engineer, you can try for sap abap, which is based on programming area. But before take decision you have to consult with a good educational institute and gather more information.
